Call for Workshop Proposals

The Global Information Infrastructure Symposium (GIIS 2011) follows the success of GIIS 2007 (http://www.giis2011.org/GIIS2007) and GIIS 2009 (http://www.giis2011.org/GIIS2009). The scope of GIIS consists of interrelated set of technical, policy, and social issues implicit  in the development of national and international (global) information infrastructures. GIIS  aims at identifying and promoting the exchange of knowledge on these interrelated issues and provides liaison to bodies in the global society, technical fora and international standards.

GIIS 2011 will stimulate interdisciplinary conference sessions and workshops to discuss, built and further the use of national and international information infrastructures.

The GIIS 2011 workshops will provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to exchange their ideas, share their expertise and leverage each other’s experiences on specific topics related to information infrastructures.

The organizers of the workshop shall have responsibility of the call for papers, the review and selection of papers as well as the publication of the proceedings in coordination with the GIIS 2011 Publication co-Chairs.The registration fee  for workshops will be determined by the conference (not the workshop itself ). The fees will be paid to the conference, and the conference will provide workshop facilities.

Workshop proposals are to be submitted to the GIIS 2011 Workshops co-Chairs via email (noura.limam@gmail.com, lam.bui07@gmail.com). Prospective workshop organizers should send a proposal containing the following information to GIIS 2011 Workshop co-Chairs.

- Title of the workshop (Full name and Abbreviation)
- Objectives, scope, and topics (up to 1 page)
- A tentative list of the  workshop organizers (name and affiliation)

Each workshop should identify one organizer as the point of contact.
